I created this series of illustrative drop caps for the 2020 edition of 36 Days of Type (otherwise known as the most wonderful time of the year). Styles ran the retro-themed gamut from Art Deco, to chancery, to tiki. Drop caps are a great way to experiment with different styles outside the constraints of a word or phrase.
For this project, each letter used:
A different style of type;
An element of 3D;
Subtle distressing;
Limited palette of muted pastels.
